What's up youtube hi guys, I'm greg, I'm melissa and you're watching throttle family vlogs.
So today we're going to hell's kitchen.
This is our three year anniversary, so we're gonna go somewhere kind of nice and we just decided to stop in tahoe um the overlook right here when you're driving into tahoe up highway 50.
This is about 25 minutes away from our house.
So if you guys can't tell it's definitely wintertime and we definitely do have some pretty views, so, let's check them out so do so we made it guys made it.
Those are little pitchforks.
These are there's the kitchen and then these are all the hell's kitchen winners from all the seasons.
This is the menu, we're good, we're rolling, we're rolling all right guys.
So this is my meatball appetizer dish that we got and then this is.
I got the lobster risotto.
It looks a lot better than I thought it was because the picture online did not make it look as good as it does.
But this looks amazing and I cannot wait to try it all right here.
We go first bite, guys really good.
A lot of flavor yeah, you wanna, know what it tastes like.
What it's like meatballs.
It's really good.
I wonder what this bread tastes like right here.
It looks different if you guys can see up close.
It's squared looks like it's kind of tough.
It's stuck with cheese.
It is oh, I'm gonna try vice it's very good.
I like how warm and fresh it all is definitely tasty.
So let's try this lobster risotto.
Now now that I've tried my meatballs melissa is gonna.
Try her lobster risotto, okay, there's, probably a little.
You gotta get a little bit of lobster.
That's basically what this is.
I'm not gonna lie.
I kind of thought it was gonna, be bigger, like the pictures that I made a little bigger, but I mean there's an appetizer: I'm excited to try it really good brilliant.
Is it everything you thought it was gonna, be explain it.
That's really good, oh yeah! So what is it like so smooth? It's like pretty garlicy, but really good, and then the lobster is so good.
I'm not a big all right.
I'm gonna have to get a bite of this.
So, let's try this out: oh yeah wow.
The lobster is delicious, but definitely not for me really.
I liked it.
The lobster tastes amazing, because I love lobster wow, it's definitely an acquired taste.
I like it.
I think it's good.
This is my chicken, the chicken scampi.
Yes, let me try a bite here.
It looks like I have purple potatoes down here on the bottom.
That looks pretty good, so why don't I do exactly how you're supposed to do this? Let's mix it and get a little bit of everything in the bike, so I could really experience the way it's supposed to be.
It's really good.
If you want to know exactly what this tastes like go to an iheart chicken teriyaki and go get a chicken teriyaki, that's exactly what this tastes like.
The potatoes are pretty nice and I definitely think this just tastes like chicken teriyaki.
I I could have just got taken teriyaki, but it's still really good, though I definitely like it, the chicken's cooked perfectly.
All the textures are perfect.
It tastes delicious.
It tastes like chicken teriyaki.
So do you want to try a bite um? Let me try buttermilk first okay, so I just have to say that I went safe on what I ordered and alyssa.
She got the beef wellington, which is what we both originally wanted, but we wanted to try multiple things, so I we played a safe and we took a risk.
Now, let's see what this tastes like, I feel like I could burst with this wow.
Okay, I'm like trying to be told I'm kind of nervous.
Just because, like I love poor crazy and I love all the shows- and so I'm like hoping, I didn't, we are both huge gordon ramsay.
Pants alyssa is an amazing cook.
Is it perfect? I look really good yeah the meat literally melts in your mouth, like I've, never had that like seriously.
It's just like butter, it's so smooth, that's really good! That is really good.
All right, I'm gonna have to take a bite of this to try it out.
I mean this.
The food here is really good and I really really want to taste this beef wellington.
So here it goes.
My turn swap the camera just hand me your your whole plate I'll just take a bite.
Oh my gosh, that is so good, is it.
This is what this is.
The whole reason why we came here to hell's kitchen.
It was just that is for this dish, so I don't know if you'll like it.
I do it's so soft.
I know it's not just like butter, it's so smooth.
I had no idea.
It was gonna.
Be that soft, it's just so smooth huh, it's good, but do you want my honest opinion? I think this is a better dish.
I don't think I like this more, I don't know.
Oh, I haven't tried it yet right, so you can go back to eating your whole day.
Okay, like I, want you to take a bite of this yeah I'll.
Also take my ears.
Okay, here push your plate.
It literally forward like chicken teriyaki yeah.
I want you to say your opinion.
If you think you don't get it with the potato, yeah with the potatoes is good.
What do you think about it once you finish your bite, so I think it's really good.
The chicken is very soft and very moist, but I will say that it would really just taste like chicken teriyaki like we have a place near our house with chicken teriyaki and I feel like I could have just gone there.
In all fairness, though, I think the chicken teriyaki at that one place is really good, though that is very true.
It is very good.
I like this, though I think this was a home run.
I think it was delicious.
I think I think this is better than this super soft.
I still prefer this potatoes all right, so we're going to hurry up punch out this wait till dessert.
I think those work okay, so they brought us our dessert for our anniversary and it they didn't even says happy anniversary.
It was upside down, but I fixed it yeah.
I wonder how that was the kitchen like knowing it was outside so anyways, let's blow the candles out one two three and then we'll try it out we'll see if it's any good.

Let me know you're honest what is this? So it's the sticky toffee pudding.
He doesn't like it's not very good.
I like coffee too, you don't like it.
I like toffee, but maybe I need ice cream to go with it.
Yeah! Try it together, yeah! No, it's definitely a lot better.
You definitely have to eat ice cream.
Okay, I'll, try it if not it tastes very dry.
Okay, it's good! It's good! Interesting at first it was the texture was kind of weird.
It's pretty good, all right.
Let's finish this up guys, so we just got back to our car.
We just left the restaurant um, so we're going to tell you our reviews, I'll tell you right now: spoiler alert, alyssa's, cooking, it's way better than hell's kitchen and I kind of figured that was going to be the case before we even went because alyssa is an amazing chef.
I know it's never been shown on our channel before so I think we're going to start doing some cooking like segments on our channel.
I love cooking, I'm very passionate about cooking.
Like I love gordon ramsay, I love his restaurants.
Well, I've never been to a restaurant.
He just like, I feel, like he's my mentor, yeah and being there today at the restaurant.
I I'm not even gonna lie.
I wasn't that impressed like the lobster risotto was good and then I had my first bite and you know a couple bites later.
I was like the lobster it was.
I felt like was kind of rubbery I felt like, and there was a flavor that overpowered the whole entire garlic or something it was very overpowering.
I ended up not finishing it couldn't even taste the lobster flavor, that's how overpowering it was and greg's meatballs were really good, but there was a lot of basil like a lot of basil.
It takes over the whole dish yeah, so I was getting the meatball and then dipping it like and grabbing a ton of marinara to cover it and me normally.
I don't know like with us and our cooking and like the style that alyssa does because alyssa's a really good cook is she uses um like the right amount of seasoning to where you taste all the flavors and like being able to taste all the flavors is good and it's.
She also brings out the flavor of the meat, and so you can actually like taste, everything as a whole and it flows together.
Like a nice, it's just very smooth, it's not overpowering and then so entrees the chicken was really good.
It was very good.
It was very moist, very soft, but I it was just like it was just like break any other chicken teriyaki.
I feel like like there's a place right down.
You know well kind of where we live and it tasted exactly like it.
It's just it's nothing, special, it's chicken, teriyaki and then my wellington, the wellington I thought was actually really really good.
That was probably my favorite dish.
It was very good um.
The fallington was the beef wellington was really good.
I couldn't believe how soft it was yeah.
So it wasn't what my mind had anticipated that it was gonna taste like.
So that's probably the reason why I didn't like it so much was because I always in my mind had this idea that it was going to taste different than it did, but I mean nonetheless like the texture of it was amazing, the flavor of it I personally didn't like so much.
I thought it was.
I thought it was good.
I I just looked like it was cooked perfect.
I thought it was really good and it was so smooth like I haven't.
Never had any food be like that like it was just so smooth and like just so light, it was so good, but I really liked it, but the other was the mashed potatoes that came with it on the side.
They seemed like boxed potatoes and I'm not getting.
They were not good.
They were very, very grainy.
Like really grainy alyssa asked me if it was grits so yeah.
I thought because I've never had grits, and so I ate them and I'm like.
Maybe it is grits.
Maybe it's not mashed potatoes like it was super grainy like potatoes like yeah.
It was but like don't get me wrong, it was.
It was really good, but it was just really grainy and very weird um, and then we got our sticky toffee pudding, which was pretty good.
It was really good by itself without the ice cream, not good.
It was too dry, but with the ice cream and the caramel was really funny, not the caramel look, I mean, but it flowed together with the ice cream and you like had a little bit of the ice cream and you mixed it.
It was super good.
I thought it was kind of funny that the happy anniversary thing that they came up together was upside down.
It was upside down and she's like I didn't, want to touch it because it covered it.
We flipped it back yeah, I flipped it over for the video but yeah they give it to us upside down, which obviously isn't a big deal, but it's super funny though, but yeah so overall reviews, honestly, I I don't think I would ever go back.
I don't think I would go back.
I don't know if, like I'm not saying, I won't go to any other gordon ramsay restaurants, but I don't think I'll go to hell's kitchen again.
I I wasn't that impressed like I really wasn't.
The only thing I was really impressed with was the beef.
The presentation was amazing.
The presentation, the presentation on everything was very, very beautiful, very elegant and very neatly done.
I thought the flavors weren't there, but I'm like other than that.
I I don't think I'd go again.
To be honest, it wasn't that good, gordon, if you're watching this, I still love you, though yeah you're still the best you're, still the best chef in the world yeah in our minds.
I still yeah, I just and in our hearts yeah.
We know I just feel like it's very it's like an acquired taste.
You know like it was it was, but I did like I do feel like.
If their the flavors were more balanced, it would have been really good because, like the chicken, my my chicken was good, but like everything else, I felt like there was one thing on the dish.
I dropped the phone.
There was just one thing on each dish that there was too much of yeah and if there would have been a little bit less, it would have been amazing.
It would have- and that's like the one thing that's good about alyssa's cooking is I love how she balances all the flavors like and like we don't.
She doesn't use a lot of salt.
She doesn't use a lot of pepper.
She actually makes the food that you want to taste pop and, like she uses the right seasonings, to make the food just that much better and just extract the flavor so but but yeah.
So that's a review of the restaurant but um yeah stay tuned because we're gonna be going to reno we're headed to reno right now, and then we're going to have two days there, one and a half days, two two days and then yeah so back home, yeah and then back home.
So this will be good anniversary for us.
This is a three year anniversary, yeah three year anniversary, my mom and my brother are watching um sawyer, I was gonna, say my son sawyer um yeah.
So it's it's nice not having sawyer, because like we can have adult time, we can relax and hang out and do whatever we want.
We normally have him every year, we're always with him all every day and normally, when we're filming our videos, it's usually he's asleep or with us yeah so and we always have our lollipop playing.
So we can always monitor them the whole time just in case anyone wants to know what kind of parents we are.
We are the ones that are 100 obsessed with our kids yeah.
So it's like it's kind of hard, not having him like it.
Is I we're with him all the time and he's not here with us, but it's nice, because we get to have some mommy and daddy time, but I can't wait to see somewhere all right guys, so that is going to be the end of today's video.
